Matching numbers XK 140 DHC SE, 18 years in possession of the last owner, very well maintained
After more than 18 years of enjoying this beautiful Jaguar XK 140 SE DHC (Drop Head Coupe) the owner decided, after hesitated a long time, to sell his English icon. It were years of enjoying one of the most appealing English classics and the most popular version of the XK 140. This DHC offers for many enthusiasts exactly what they are looking for in a true classic: an stunning appearance, very fine driving characteristics , comfort, space on the "back seat", a soft top that is easy to open and close and reliable technology. All this offers the XK 140.
This XK was built in 1955. It is a factory-original SE (Special Equipment) model with matching numbers. The SE is equipped with the cylinder head of the famous C-type and this engine delivers 210 bhp. instead of the standard 190 bhp version. And that difference is clearly noticeable. The cylinder head is in a new condition because it has been completely overhauled recently. Amongst the pictures of the car you we show you as well pictures of the work what was done to the cylinderhead. A Heritage Certificate is available to check all numbers and originality.
This beautiful Jaguar was extensively restored in the past and the car is still in a beautiful condition. The owner decided years ago to have the original 'Moss' gearbox / overdrive replaced by a Getrag 5 speed. Driving has become even more fun using this gearbox. Shifting is smoother, more precise and the gear ratios are fitting very well to the character of the engine. The engine power is even more effective now. The original (also matching numbers) gearbox / overdrive was overhauled in the past by a classic car specialist and comes of course with the car, to remain the history complete.
The XK is equipped with Lucas spotlights, chrome wire wheels, a stainless steel exhaust system, Koni shock absorbers and a speedometer in kilometers.
Transmission: Getrag 5 speed (overhauled and matching numbers Moss gearbox/overdrive comes with the car)
