Auction description:
1959 Jaguar XK 150S 3.4 Roadster
LOT: 488
Estimate: $150,000-$200,000 US
Chassis No. T831574DN
Manufactured on October 20, 1958, this matching numbers example previously received a documented restoration in its original Carmen Red with black leather upholstery and black carpets. Its history is authenticated by the accompanying Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Certificate. While the engine’s aluminum cam covers, intake manifold, front cover, and carburetors had all been polished to a show quality finish, the car was more recently brought to a show quality and outstanding driver level by the professionals at Classic Showcase. The seats were reupholstered, the top bows were restored, and a new Stay Fast top was installed. Additionally, the car received two new and proper 150S fuel pumps with correct lines and connections. New shrouds were installed along with a correct washer bottle, the fuel filter bowl was replaced, and new mufflers and exhaust pipes were added. In addition to detailing the undercarriage and painting it in its proper colors, Classic Showcase also made sure all systems were in good operating condition and conducted a full vehicle detail both inside and out. A rare and highly collectable Jaguar indeed, it is further complemented by beautiful chrome wire wheels and a pair of Lucas driving lights.
