Car was at auction 10/06

Auction description:
Having been stripped down to its component parts, the car has been restored at enormous cost. No part of the car has been left untouched and no expense was spared. This has created a beautifully finished, very usable XK150S, which has some sensible upgrades and is supplied with all of the original parts. These include the Aston Martin chrome wires that are fitted, the original wire wheels and another set of Jaguar chrome wire wheels. The original cylinder head (has new unleaded head fitted). The original seats (front and rear) and carpet are also included, which can be refitted once the bolt-in roll cage and bucket seats are removed. The 150S originally sported the 3.4 XK engine but in 1959 it was available with the 3.8 on triple SU's and with the o/d manual transmission. This combination gave the 150S performance that was not that far behind the E-Type, reaching 60 mph in 7.2 seconds and going on to 136 mph maximum. Less than 1000 XK 150S were built and 3.8 examples are the rarest of the breed. This superb example comes with an extensive history file dating back to its days in Sweden, through its restoration by Twyford Moors and recent history from Classic Restorations of Alyth. There is also a photo record of the works by Twyford Moors and an original owners manual. The car, which is only being offered for sale because of the vendors severe back problems, is offered in ready to use condition with MoT through to August 2007 and historic tax through to the end of July 2007.
