    Sellers description:
    Car Condition: Show Level
This Jaguar is a superb example yielding a rare engine size of 3.8. This was the largest displacement engine of the period for an XK-150. The 3.8 engine was featured near the end of the production of the XK. Also, a significant difference in the rear tail light fixture. No expense was spared in this impeccable and proper restoration to the highest standards by Jaguar Professionals. During this extensive restoration the engine, transmission, drive train and all systems were gone through, body was taken to bare metal, fitted to perfection, interior trimmed in a beautiful green color contrasting combination, brite work re-plated to show level and all hardware panels in proper finish. It would be hard to find any XK-150 DHC, let alone one of the finest in the world restored to a Show level. This is a great opportunity to own a rare and spectacular vehicle that has matching numbers. This is for the discerning collector who demands the best quality.

    1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 Drophead Coupe
    Chassis No.S838668DN
    Estimate: $210,000-$250,000 US
AUCTION DATE: Friday, August 19, 2011
    - The ultimate evolution of the classic XK Jaguars of the 1950s
    - Matching numbers; LHD; one of about 586 220-bhp, 3.8-liter XK150s
    - A high-quality restoration by Jaguar specialists
    - Overdrive and original "SE" equipment

Only about 2,680 XK150 Drophead Coupes were built through the end of production in mid-1961, including about 2,130 export models. Only about 586 were 220-bhp, 3.8-liter cars, including S838668DN, the wonderful example offered here.

A proper and very high-quality restoration performed by Jaguar professionals with virtually no expense spared, this 3.8-liter XK150 DHC from 1960 is simply impressive. During this extensive restoration process, the body received a bare-metal refinish in British Racing Green with carefully fitted panels, handsomely complemented by a black convertible top, show-quality restored brightwork and handsome Suede Green leather upholstery. Mechanically, the engine, gearbox, drivetrain and all systems were gone through. In addition to its rare 3.8-liter engine and four-speed gearbox with overdrive, this original "SE" (Special Equipment) model is also equipped with dual fog lamps, five chrome wire wheels shod with period-style Dunlop Roadspeed tires, a dual-exhaust system and a fully equipped trunk compartment fitted with a jack and tools. With only about 100 miles currently indicated, this rare matching-numbers 3.8-liter XK150 is complete with photos and receipts documenting its restoration process.

With a proper and very high-quality restoration performed by Jaguar professionals with virtually no expense spared, this 3.8-liter XK 150 Drophead Coupe impresses on sight. The body received a bare-metal refinish in British Racing Green, with carefully fitted panels handsomely complemented by a black convertible top and show-quality restored brightwork. The interior is done in subtle Suede green leather. The engine, gearbox, drivetrain and all systems were thoroughly rebuilt. In addition to the desirable 3.8-liter engine and four-speed gearbox with Laycock de Normanville overdrive, this original "SE" (Special Equipment) model is equipped with dual fog lamps, five chrome wire wheels with period-style Dunlop Roadspeed RS5 tires, dual-exhaust system and a fully-equipped trunk compartment fitted with a jack and tools.

    Monterey
    15 - 16 August 2014
    Lot 207
    1960 Jaguar XK150 3.8 Drophead Coupe
To be auctioned on Saturday, August 16, 2014
    Without Reserve
    $200,000 - $275,000

    Chassis no. S 838668 DN
    Engine no. VA 1572-8
    Body no. P 8180

    High-quality restoration by Jaguar professionals
Gorgeous green over green color combination
    Desirable 3.8-liter engine
Accompanied by its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate

This XK150 was completed on February 15, 1960, and then shipped to Jaguar of Eastern Canada. It was equipped with the desirable 3.8-liter engine and fitted with the so-called B-type cylinder head, as found on the 3.4-liter Special Equipment model. Its 220 horsepower was a welcome addition, as the Standard and SE 3.4-liters produced 190- and 210-horsepower ratings, respectively. As this car is a drophead coupe, it is one of only two thousand six hundred seventy-two produced, which represents just twenty-eight percent of total XK150 production.

This lovely example has undergone a proper and very high-quality restoration performed by Jaguar professionals, with virtually no expense spared. The body received a bare-metal refinish in British Racing Green, with carefully fitted panels, and it is handsomely accompanied by a black convertible top and beautifully restored brightwork. The interior has been trimmed in subtle green leather, which complements the exterior beautifully.

Additionally, the engine, gearbox, drivetrain, and all systems were thoroughly rebuilt. In addition to the desirable 3.8-liter engine and four-speed gearbox with Laycock de Normanville overdrive, this model is equipped with dual fog lamps, five chrome wire wheels with period-style Dunlop Roadspeed RS5 tires, a proper dual-exhaust system, and a fully equipped trunk compartment with a jack and tools.

This beautiful XK150 Drophead Coupe, with only test mileage currently indicated, is complete with a JDHT Certificate, and it remains an outstanding example of Jaguar's luxury convertible. It will be a virtual centerpiece of its genre in any collection, and it will provide many more miles of elegant motoring pleasure to its next owner.
