This XK 150 coupé has spent most of its life in sunny California. The current owner bought the car in 2012 from the wife of the previous owner, who had kept it following the death of her husband. The car was then brought back to England and was given to Jaguar specialists for mechanical restoration. Notable elements from the list of works carried out includes a re-build of the original engine (matching numbers) with cylinder head modified for unleaded fuel, a new clutch, new radiator, refurbished starter and dynamo. The upholstery was restored, chrome work refurbished and rubber seals replaced. The car is very sound on its original chassis and is fitted with two original style 6-volt batteries. This is a desirable model, equipped with air-conditioning, manual gearbox and the 3.8-litre "Special equipment" 265 bhp engine that was used for the E-Type a few months after this particular car left the factory, being one of the last examples of the model. The ultimate evolution of the XK family, this coupé combined majestic engineering with a vastly improved level of comfort. A perfect combination.
