Chassis number S834839DN is a very impressive example.
The Jaguar started life as a Fixed Head Coupé but has been converted to Drophead Coupé during it’s life.
The conversion has been done in the United States using the parts of a Drophead Coupé. Therefore it is not possible to see any difference with a factory delivered Drophead Coupé. Only the chassis number reveals that this specific example started life as a Fixed Head Coupe.
If we look at the chassis number, we can conclude that because of the S, the car is an SE specification car which means that it is newly delivered with chrome wired wheels and 2 fog lamps.
The 83 number shows that this is an original left hand drive 3.4 litre 6 cylinder example and the final DN letters show that this example was born with an overdrive!
The Jaguar was newly delivered in the United States and came approximately 18 years ago to Holland.
The car was sold to Jaguar enthusiasts who carried out an impressive restoration over the years.
The body, interior, engine, engine bay and underside have been completely restored and brakes etc. are upgraded even as parts like the petrol tank (now with upgraded aluminium tank)
The Jaguar was restored with the intention to use the car regularly for long distance trips and club rallies but probably the condition became too nice as the car has been sparely used by the former owners.
CONDITION EXTERIOR
This Jaguar XK 150 is a beautiful appearance due to the beautiful color combination of Cotswold Blue with a dark blue interior.
The chrome on the car is in a very nice condition. The front window seems to be original and shows some minor scratches from the wiper.
The doors, hood, and trunk all open and shut with generally good fit and closure.
The car wears body painted wheels. An option which we personally like very much but if the new custodian prefers chrome wired wheels we can exchange the wheels.
CONDITION INTERIOR
The interior of the Jaguar is in a comparable condition as the exterior. Extremely nice. The car is fitted with very nice bucket seats.
The carpet is in a very good condition overall.
The soft top has been recently renewed in period correct material with the period correct size of the window.
The trunk is nicely trimmed in matching materials and the tools and jack are all present in the spare wheel area.
UNDERNEATH / ENGINE BAY
The engine has been recently overhauled resulting in a beautiful looking engine. Also the engine bay is in a very nice condition. Tidy and well detailed with a combination of proper polishing of the aluminum castings.
From underneath the car looks as nice as in the engine bay. Very nice and clean and it’s clearly visible that a lot of money has been spend on this car to make it beautiful looking and driving.
