This 1958 Jaguar XK150 fixed-head coupe is finished in dark blue over beige leather and powered by a 3.4-liter inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes fender-mounted side mirrors, chrome bumpers with over-riders, driving lights, 16″ wheels, disc brakes, and an aftermarket Blaupunkt stereo. A refurbishment during previous ownership reportedly included repainting the body, reupholstering the seats and door panels, and replacing the transmission, chrome trim, and wire wheels. The seller’s father acquired the car in August 2016, and over $26k in cosmetic and mechanical repairs were performed in October 2016. This XK150 is now offered by the seller with an owner’s manual, service receipts, and a clean Illinois title in the owner’s name.
The car was refinished in dark blue during prior ownership, and the owner notes that the brightwork was also replaced. Exterior details include fender-mounted side mirrors, Lucas driving lights, dual exhaust outlets, and a chrome grille, bumpers, and trim. Work completed in October 2016 included repairing a door lock mechanism, rebuilding the wiper motors, replacing the reverse lights and wiring, and fitting a replacement trunk lid and seals. The left-side windshield trim is worn, and the front Jaguar emblem is faded.
Replacement 16″ chrome wire wheels are secured with two-eared knockoffs and mounted with 185-section Vredestein Sprint Classic tires. The car was factory equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, and work completed in 2016 included overhauling the parking brake system, installing spacers for the front upper control arms, and replacing the dampers and various bushings.
The seats, dash pad, center console, and door panels have been reupholstered in tan leather. Features include wood trim, custom-mounted seatbelts, chrome fittings, a modern Blaupunkt Memphis CD player, and aftermarket cabin speakers. Service during current ownership has included replacing the horns, shifter handle, parking brake handle, turn signal relay box, and turn signal switch.
The leather-wrapped wheel is mounted on a replacement steering column and fronts centrally mounted Smiths instrumentation. The five-digit odometer shows 94k miles, approximately 400 of which were added during current ownership. The water temperature gauge was replaced in October 2016.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with polished valve covers and dual SU carburetors. Service performed during current ownership included installing an alternator conversion kit, a PerTronix ignition system, and replacing the following:
Wiring harnesses
Battery cables
Carburetor needles
Fuel pump
Fuel sender gasket
Choke solenoid
Radiator
Thermostat gasket
Radiator hose clamps
Spark plugs
The Borg-Warner three-speed automatic transmission was reportedly replaced during previous ownership, and the mufflers and exhaust hangers were replaced in 2016.
Receipts for the October 2016 service total more than $26k
