Listed in the Nov. 2011 edition of the XK Gazette, Market Observer as having been at Baron's auction, lot# 138, at Sandown in Sept. Black/Cream. Nice driver. Not sold.

    Additional sale description:
This example is a genuine, UK-market, right-hand drive SE fixed head coupe, fitted with the standard 3.4 litre engine and with manual/overdrive transmission. In its preset ownership for 30 years, the car was bought as a sound, but slightly tired example and was subsequently comprehensively refurbished.

Around 8,000 miles have been covered in the car since this time and the car has proved to be 100% reliable. During our recent inspection of the car, it drove superbly and showed excellent oil pressure, making all the right noises through its stainless steel exhaust system. It was also noted that the overdrive worked faultlessly.

For reliability in modern traffic the radiator has been uprated and a Kenlowe fan fitted, while recent works have included a new clutch and replacement of the core plugs and radiator hoses.

With a lovely sound body and smart cream leather interior, the car has proved to be supremely faithful and used in the main for attending classic car shows all over the country. While the black paint work is average/poor, the owner made the conscious decision to leave it alone for fear of making the car 'too precious' to enjoy whenever he felt the urge. Certainly, the new owner can make the decision to use the car as it is and enjoy it, or have it repainted.

Over the last 20+ years, this lovely old XK has been maintained carefully by Swallow Engineering and it is offered for sale with long tax and MoT and a good quantity of history and paperwork. Note: This description is provided by the vendor and unless otherwise stated is 'Not Verified' by Barons or any person employed by Barons. Prospective purchasers are advised to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any statements made, whether they be statements of fact or opinion.

An original right-hand drive model retaining matching chassis and engine numbers, this XK150 coupé was delivered new to the Henley dealership and had three owners to prior to the current vendor: one for 21 years and the immediately preceding for 32 years. The previous owner bought the XK as a sound but slightly tired example and treated it to a comprehensive restoration in 1980/1981, after which the car was carefully maintained by marque specialists Swallow Engineering. In 2011, by which time it had covered some 8,000 miles post restoration, the car was offered for sale at a UK auction where it was purchased by the current vendor. Noteworthy features include an up-rated radiator, Kenlowe electric cooling fan and a stainless steel exhaust system. The substantial history file contains numerous recently issued (2010 onwards) receipts from SNG Barratt and other specialists together with older receipts and expired MoT certificates dating back to the late 1970s/early 1980s. The car also comes with a full tool kit, Heritage Certificate, current MoT and a V5C registration document.
