VERY NICE 1956 JAGUAR XK140. FINISHED WITH A BLACK EXTERIOR AND RED LEATHER INTERIOR. DRIVEN JUST 90,620 CAREFUL MILES SINCE NEW. IT HAS A CLASSIC DESIGN ALONG WITH INTERIOR COMFORTS AND PERFORMANCE THAT CAN BE ENJOYED ON WEEKEND DRIVES OR VARIOUS COLLECTOR EVENTS. I HAVE A COMPLETE AND DETAILED SERVICE FILE FOR THIS CAR SHOWING IT'S RESTORATION BY A WELL KNOWN JAGUAR SPECIALIST SEVERAL YEARS AGO. This particular car was originally supplied new to Hoffmans in New York in 1955. First owner was a Mr. R. A. Pape of New Jersey. The car was then bought to the UK by its current owner from Pennsylvania in 2008. All EU taxes and duties have been paid and the car has UK registration and UK 'Historic Car' status. The car has not been converted to RHD, and remains as an original LHD vehicle.
The car is a complete matching numbers car, and is fitted with its original engine with C-Type cylinder head, matted to its original 4 speed Moss Box.
The car is described by the owner as being in a lovely condition with the paint from an older restoration, but with the red leather interior having been fitted two years ago and in excellent condition.
New wire wheels and tyres recently fitted. Original drum brakes rebuilt last year and are very good - pulls-up firmly and straight.
In summary, a good usable XK with great performance and great colour combination. Could be maintained and used 'as is', or moved on to Show condition if preferred.
