Ebay item 5/12/21
Opening bid US $45,000 no bids buy it now price:$65,000, 4 days left in auction seller ourxke26, 1k mile reported.
Seller's description:
This is an ongoing restoration project. The Jag was in storage for over 45 years. I brought it back to life over the first winter. I changed all fluids, added a stainless twin exhaust system, rebuilt the braking system with new wheel cylinders and shoes, rebuilt the carbs, flushed the cooling system, added a new water pump, water hoses, fan belt, rebuilt the distributor, added new floorboards, an inexpensive carpet kit, flushed the gas tank, added a few new chrome pieces as I found them, and started driving it on nice days. There is some rust in the sills and rear door posts and that was to be the next item I was going to address but the car is solid and the doors close nice and it runs fine.
It is not the original engine. I bought it with a very good running, excellent compression XK150 engine in it, nearly identical to the 140 drivetrain. The only difference in the block is the angle of the oil filter, otherwise identical. The horsepower is rated at 210 bhp. I have a fully rebuilt C-type head that I purchased, and will sell that separately if the buyer has interest in that. The seats are original frames and were recovered black some years ago, not ripped, and all there to be refitted with new interior whenever desired. Depending on what one wants, it can be driven and enjoyed , work as you go, as I do, or do it all up with new sills, interior and painting, as one wishes. It is a true MC roadster, left hand drive, very few made, and was originally delivered as old English white exterior with red interior.
