Ebay item 5/24/07 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK140-MC-ROADSTER-JAGUAR-XK140-MC-ROADSTER-DOCUME ...
Current bid $31,500, no reserve, 2 bids, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1956 JAGUAR XK140 MC ROADSTER
FULLY DOCUMENTED, ONE OWNER "BARN FIND" UNTOUCHED FOR 40 YEARS
Model I.D. # RDSMC140 V.I.N. # S811907DN
Stored since 1968 by the original owner. This automobile was bought new in 1956 by a U.S. Navy pilot in Kansas, then driven to San Diego in 1967 when he was transferred, and remains here to this day. The California Title is still in the original owners name along with other various paperwork. This automobile also has the original California black license plate.
This is a very rare JAGUAR XK140 MC Roadster with alloy body panels. The "M" represented "Modified", and the "C" was for the C-Type racing head. This Jaguar factory special MC option included wire wheels and a 210 horsepower engine, the result of the C-Type heads and dual exhaust.
This automobile even has the original dust from almost 40 years in storage by the original owner, as well as the original 1968 (?) tires (now flat). Headlight glass, as well as the windshield were accidentally cracked (easily replaced) while the vehicle was in storage all these years. It has 61,863 documented miles from new.
The Jaguar XK140 series is featured on the cover of the May, 2007 issue of "Classic & Sports Car" magazine as "JAG’S BEST XK". Also quoted as saying "The most expensive Jaguar XK today might not be as pretty as the XK120, nor as powerful as the XK150, but the XK140 combines the best of both."
This Jaguar XK140 MC looks very untidy to view, BUT underneath all of this dust is a wonderful opportunity to own a totally original, UNMOLESTED, documented Jaguar XK140 MC Roadster. It can be fully restored, or simply freshened up and driven as an original "barn find".
