Car to be at auction 9/14http://www.russoandsteele.com/collector-car/1954-Jaguar-XK140/94791

    Auction description:
    Las Vegas 2014
    Consignment # 1042
    1954 Jaguar XK140
    VIN: S811899
Now, as then, the most desirable examples of the XK140 were those equipped with the top-line "MC" package, a fabulous combination of the "M" or "Special Equipment" package including a crankshaft vibration-damper, 54-spoke wire wheels, dual exhaust, fog lamps, and windshield washers. As indicated by the "C" suffix, the higher-compression improved "C-Type" cylinder head, also known as the "Red Head" by virtue of its distinctive paint finish, raised power output of the DOCH 3.4-liter 'XK' engine to a heady 210 bhp.

Handsomely finished in silver paintwork with its sporting cockpit trimmed in deep red upholstery, this 1954 XK140 is an original left-hand drive example. In addition to striking brightwork, period style wide whitewall tires and chrome wire-spoke wheels further complement it. Providing excellent performance, even by today's standards, and enjoyable touring capabilities while delivering a wonderful open-air experience, this XK140 roadster from 1954 will provide a welcome entry into a multitude of classic shows and touring events and incomparable collectability to match.
