Sellers description:
1957 Jaguar XK140 MC with C type head. This car is a very good restoration car with number matching engine and head. From the pictures the car looks very nice. The paint is older with some flaking and scratches. There has been some previous body work done many decades ago and it is showing its age. Interior was installed many years ago but was never used with a few items still needing completion.
The car is sold NOT RUNNING. I have not made any attempt to start car. The engine is does turn freely, and I feel it will only take a little work to get it running. The car was missing the oil pan and pump when I bought the car. I ordered the oil pan and pump but the oil pump that arrived is not the correct pump and this car takes the earlier pump design. If car does not sell, I will get it running and re-list.
Numbers are:
S810322 vin number
F10326 body number match the number on cowl
G1494-8S engine match block and head
OSL 2286-B transmission I don't see a matching number on transmission
My description of the car from the front is: chrome looks very good, the right headlight lense has a crack. Paint on hood has some flaking. Driver fender and door looks to be in good condition. Rear dog leg will need attention. The trunk lid is in good condition with a slight bend at bottom left. Rear bumper has some minor pitting. Right rear fender dog leg will need attention. Passenger door and fender look to be in good condition. Interior is in very good condition with a few missing items. Passenger side windshield has a 3" crack in the glass and chrome around windshield has some pitting. The frame looks to be solid. Convertible top is in very good condition.
My inventory of missing items:
One air filter,door pockets,lanyards,knobs,convertible top frame,side curtains,battery cover,rear view mirror,rear license plate holder, fog lights and could be a few more items missing.
You will be given a New York State transferable registration. NY does not issue titles on pre 1973 vehicles.
You are welcome to see the car before bidding. I live outside Buffalo, New York. I'm told the car is one owner and miles are correct, but I have no way to substantiate.
