Sellers description:
1956 Jaguar XK140 DHC (Convertible) offered by Gas Monkey Garage showing 8,838 miles! When I found this well preserved example in the barn of a winery in California while looking at another car that I was interested in I tried not to get too excited as I knew I was about to own both of them! Now this Jaguar was stored in a barn for quite some time and was dusty and dirty having not been driven in quite some time. The first thing Aaron wanted to do when we got it back to the Gas Monkey Garage was to assess the mechanical condition as it was running when it was stored years ago. After replacing the fuel pump, draining the fuel tank and cleaning the carbs the engine fired to life once again! We then flushed the cooling system and replaced a few of the hoses as necessary, replaced some of the brake hydraulics and new brake shoes to get the car running and driving again. At this point we cleaned and polished the existing paint to reveal a nice glossy finish that shows well with its age present as there are nicks and scratches with areas of paint starting to peel (see all pics). While this is good, solid example of the 1956 Jaguar XK140 DHC that does run and drive it should be considered a project as this is a car that deserves a full restoration to concourse condition. The exterior is in good condition with a few small dents and one prominent one on the deck lid from years of storage at the vineyard (a cask of wine probably fell on it!) the interior cleaned up nicely and is mostly complete but would also benefit from the TLC it deserves. Mechanically it seems to be all there (see all pics and ask any questions) but should be completely serviced prior to any extended driving to ensure safety and reliability (due to our filming schedule, we cannot perform any additional work or restoration on the car, ***SOLD AS IS/WHERE IS***).This is a unique opportunity to own a very iconic British Sports Car. This rare 1956 Jaguar XK140 DHC will be seen on the hit show Fast N Loud Clear California Title in hand! If you're looking for a good, solid example of the iconic 1956 Jaguar XK140 DHC Convertible in good condition you won't find a better example that's priced to sell!
