The car on offer is a desirable Jaguar XK 140 Drophead Coupe that left the factory in March 1955, and was distributed by Jaguar Los Angeles. The production sheet from Jaguar Heritage, states that it is a left-hand drive with manual gearbox and the "Special Equipment" option. The history of this car is interesting, it would have known only two owners in the United States before arriving in France in 1994, bought by two friends, still owners today. It was sound but needed restoration, which was carried out over several years and entrusted to Ateliers Tourquennois. It is now in a very good general condition and was sparingly used since the end of the restoration in 2014. The file coming with this XK includes invoices, photos and a 2015 expert report that confirms the good condition of the car. Originally red, this XK is today in English green English color which suits perfectly. The beige interior is beautiful and the carpets and upholstery have been renovated. With its black hood and its wire wheels, this KX is in beautiful condition and its seductive lines will delight the lovers of long-distance rides.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
