This 1955 Jaguar XK140 roadster has reportedly been in the current owner’s family for approximately 61 years and is finished in white over a white and black interior. Power is provided by a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes front fog lamps, 16″ wire wheels with knock-off hubs, chrome trim, and front and rear bumpers with overriders. The car participated in the 2021 Colorado English Motoring Conclave in September. This XK140 roadster is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, repair manuals, a soft top, side curtains, service records, spare headlamps, and a clean Colorado title listing the car as a 1956 model.
The car is finished in white and features fog lamps and chrome front and rear bumpers with overriders. The soft top and frame and side curtains are included in the sale but are in need of replacement.
The 16” wire wheels are mounted with winged knockoffs and wrapped in 215/70 Bridgestone Dueler H/L tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums that are said to be replacements, and the brake master cylinder was reportedly replaced in 2015.
The cabin features two-tone white and black seats and is equipped with a dash-mounted rear-view mirror and passenger-side grab handle. Wear is present on interior components and the speakers have been removed from the doors.
The four spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a reverse-sweep tachometer with an inset clock, a 140-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 85k of which were added under current ownership.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features twin replacement SU carburetors. The radiator, thermostat, and generator were replaced in the mid-2000s and the spark plugs were replaced in 2020.
The engine block stamping G6102-8 matches the engine number listed on the data plate. Photos of the matching cylinder head stamping are available in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The exhaust system was replaced in 2010.
Manufacturer’s literature, service manuals, service records, and spare headlamps are included in the sale.
