    Sellers description:
    Estimate: $85,000 - 100,000
    Chassis # 5847071

Offered to the collector of fine British sport cars is this wonderful example of the XK150 SE FHC; a wonderful car in fantastic restored condition and powered by Jaguar's 3.8 liter twin cam six cylinder paired with the great Moss 4 speed transmission, it's a car that offers great performance in true sport coupe form. Its fine dedication to originality and outstanding ground up restoration make it the ultimate car for both driving and display. Jaguars of this era are becoming increasingly hard to find, with 3.8 liter Special Equipment models being even scarcer. The 3.8 SE models had 220 horsepower at 5500 rpm making 30 horsepower more than the average XK150 3.4. This 1961 XK 150 offered here is a car that does not disappoint in both fit and finish and is one of only 475 150 SE 3.8 Liter cars originally imported into the United States. Found in a barn in Indiana in magnificent original condition, a body off restoration was performed in 2009 along with a complete mechanical rebuild with only 4000 miles on the car since completion. Winning best in show at the 2014 JCNSE Concours and winning awards at other New England concours shows such as the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance, this Jaguar is an exquisite example. It also comes with its Jaguar Trust Heritage certificate solidifying its true matching numbers engine, transmission, cylinder head and body. The Jaguar XK 150 is a car that has its own history both on the street and on the track and this fine example is sure to be a wonderful addition to any collection while offering years of excellent touring.

    Lot #106595

This 1960 Jaguar XK150 coupe is finished in white over red leather upholstery and powered by a 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. The car was refurbished in the late 2000s at RMR Restorations in Hollis, New Hampshire, with a repaint and an interior retrim, and work performed within the last year has involved fitting an electronic ignition conversion kit, repairing the wiring, and replacing the steering rack mounts, sway bar bushings, coolant hoses, spark plugs, and various fluids. Equipment includes 16” knockoff wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, wing-mounted side mirrors, a dual exhaust system, and a burl wood veneer instrument panel. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2023, this XK150 is now offered with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, manufacturer’s literature, refurbishment photos, a tool roll, and a clean New Hampshire title listing the car as a 1961 model.

The car left the factory finished in British Racing Green and was repainted in white during the aforementioned refurbishment. Exterior features include a leaper hood ornament, a badge bar, wing-mounted side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The doors were adjusted in November 2022, and the left door seal was replaced. Paint chips on the right door are visible.

Chrome 16” knockoff wire wheels are mounted with 205/70 Goodyear Eagle LS2 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and the hydraulics were flushed in November 2022. The front sway bar bushings and steering rack mounts were replaced in March 2023.

The cabin features individual front seats and rear jump seats trimmed in red leather with a color-coordinated dash topper, door panels, and carpets. Burl wood veneer adorns the instrument panel, and additional appointments include a heater and a lockable glove compartment. The left-side window track felt was replaced in November 2022, while the interior wiring was repaired in March 2023.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts central Smiths instrumentation consisting of a tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline and an inset clock accompanied by a 140-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The clock was repaired in November 2022. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles, and true mileage is unknown.

The 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and an aluminum radiator. Work performed in November 2022 included installing an electronic ignition conversion kit, repairing the starting carburetor wiring, adjusting the camshaft chain, tightening the timing cover and oil pan, and replacing the coolant pipe, radiator hoses, and spark plugs. The intake and exhaust manifold fasteners were tightened and the down pipe gasket was replaced in March 2023.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch hydraulics were flushed and the transmission and differential fluids were replaced in November 2022.

A Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows the original configuration and colors along with serial numbers for the chassis, engine, body, and gearbox.
