The car was discovered in 2010 after sitting in storage since 1967. It has 42799 miles which are believed to be original mileage. The car is totally correct and untouched, one of the last S barn finds. All numbers and colours match and the car is one of the very few with the close ratio gearbox. It is totally recommissioned mechanically at the moment and it will remain in a totally original condition.

Car to be at auction 4/11

    Auction description:
    Sale 19465 - Les Grandes Marques à Monaco, 20 May 2011
    Monaco
    Lot No: 135
    1959 Jaguar XK150S 3.4-Litre Roadster
    Chassis no. T831351DN
    Engine no. VS1367-9
The car we offer is one of fewer than 200 XK150s of all types to leave the factory fitted with a very desirable close-ratio gear set which, although intended for racing, made an appreciable difference to the car's on-the-road performance. According to the marque registrar, this could be one of the very few (if not the only) 3.4-litre 'S' roadster completed with the close-ratio gearbox and this rare colour combination. A left-hand drive example equipped with the overdrive transmission standard on the 'S' version, 'T831351DN' was manufactured on 12th September 1958 and delivered new to New York. All numbers found on the car, and its colour scheme, match those recorded on the accompanying JDHT certificate.
The car was bought from its second owner by Mr Elliott Everett of Warrenville, Illinois back in 1965. Mr Everett drove it until 1967 when the rising cost of gasoline prompted him to switch to his more economical Karmann Ghia. The XK remained stored in Mr Everett's garage, completely untouched for over 40 years, until December 2010 when the current vendor purchased it from him via a US broker. A believed-genuine total of 42,799 miles is currently displayed on the odometer, just as it was when the car was placed in storage in 1967. The Jaguar has recently received FIVA's highly coveted certification as 'A2' class: unrestored original.
Over the past few months, the XK has been totally re-commissioned. The very few rusted areas have been chemically cleaned; the paintwork has been polished and all areas lacquered to prevent rust expansion. Mechanically, the car has been made fully roadworthy and all the electrics work. The engine itself was found to be in excellent working order, holding regulation oil pressure, while the carburettors have been rebuilt, the radiator flushed, brake lines renewed and all pumps/generator/starter/etc rebuilt as necessary, with maintaining originality the top priority. The original interior and convertible top have been conserved, and only the plastic rear screen will need to be replaced. All glass and trim pieces are present and all the gauges work properly. The original jack and grease gun accompany the car together with all the replaced original parts.
There can be very few XK150S 'barn finds' left to discover, making this example especially desirable and all the more so by virtue of its rare close-ratio gearbox. Although original and unrestored, 'T831351DN' is a fully operational car that may be enjoyed 'as is' or easily rebuilt. Accompanying documentation includes the old US title, FIVA identity card, current Greek 'historic' registration papers and a large file of photographs depicting the re-commissioning process.
    Estimate: €80,000 - 100,000

The car is now back in the USA and fully restored. I will update all the information shortly. Can you correct the chassis # to read "T831351DN" as shown on the original chassis plate and the Heritage Certificate.
    Thanks

    David
