XK150 roadster chassis number 830141 had had a hard life before finding its way to us at Concours. Originally delivered to New York, the car found it's way to Australia in 1980, changed hands a few times and became increasingly in need of restoration. We purchased the car in a completely dismantled state, but basically complete, and then sold it immediately to a customer who requested a restoration to the highest standard but to full 3.8 "S" specification. This looks like the restoration project I bought from Andrew somebody in 1997. It lived in Avalon (close to Sydney, australia) for the next ten years; I bought a MkX and stripped it for the LSD, the Engine etc. However, I did not get very far in the restoration process, and sold all my projects in 1995 - the car to TH. Seem familiar? I have some photos if so.

This car is mentioned in Practical Classics magazine Nov. 1980 in a letter from the then owner, Michael Robinson of Sydney Australia. He gives the engine number as V3295-8 and gearbox as JL39751 CR.
He also mentions that he owned 660018, 667192 and 660560

Hi Robert, I bought the car from Terry Hilton who was based at the time in Orange. It came with a MKX engine complete with triple SU's. I have the original engine still, I'll check the engine number. I sold it to a good friend of mine, Mike Meadows and it was at his place that the main photo above was taken. We started the restoration for him as one of our very first restoration projects back in 1993, we rebuilt the chassis to S spec with updated rear springs, dual fuel pumps, KONI shocks, LSD, poly bushes and is sat at that stage for a while until it was sold to the current owner, Philip Hallen of Beauty Point, Sydney NSW. We completed the restoration in the same S spec theme using the MKX engine and fitting a 5 speed Supra gearbox. Body restored and painted black, replica bucket seats trimmed in grey and a custom woodgrain dash made and fitted. I haven't seen the car for about 10 years now.
Interesting to see that Michael Robinson owned the car. I was asked by Michael to look at 3 cars that he was having restored back in the mid 1990's, 660372, 660195 and 669089. Ended up with all 3 at my workshop and sold on from there. Gavin King www.concours.com.au
