The Car: Come back in time to 1983, when the vehicle was last in service. With only necessary changes owing to age-limited rubber parts, that's how the vehicle presents today. Here is an original condition, two-owner XK-120 which has never seen an upholstery, paint or body shop, but still does not look or act her age at all! 39004 original miles. Numbers matching guarantee. Properly stored for the past 31 years in climate-controlled garage in Northwest Washington, D.C., it needed a restart, a thorough cleaning and reconditioning, and replacement of expendable items, but is otherwise completely original. Overhauled: distributor, carburetors, fuel system including fuel pump, and brake cylinders. Replaced: tires, twin 6v batteries and the flexible fuel, oil and brake lines with exact replicas from XKS Unlimited. New windshield washer jug. Everything electrical (high/low beams, parking lights, turn signals, defroster fan, wipers, and gages) is working except windshield washer; that may work, too, by the time you acquire this. Compression is in 100-120 range, and you're welcome to test it. This is the 8:1 compression ratio version of the 3.4 litre engine, a virtually unstoppable, smooth-as-silk double-overhead cam straight six. Radiator is holding coolant like it should, and the primitive heater works only too well -- it will blast you! Starts very easily, as the auxiliary carburetor is working perfectly (there's no accelerator pump on the twin SU carbs; an electric carburetor delivers extra fuel to a cold engine in lieu of a choke), and can be seen in the photos as the black-capped post with two wire leads which is attached to the forward carburetor. Will need new top and seat covers. Original leaf spring leather gators were caked in mud, which turned out to be a beautiful way to preserve them! Now cleaned and looking good! Correct Coker bias-ply tires replace the old, brittle rubber Goodyears from 1974, except the spare, which was protected and is still in perfect shape. Old owners' manual annotated by the original dealer, plus many "new old stock" parts which were included with original purchase, such as spare engine gasket set, original points, condensor and fuel pump contact points set come with this purchase and will not be sold separately. You won't find another Jaguar XK-120 DHC like this for love or money anywhere.
