    Body no. f5833

The 1953 Jaguar XK 120 Roadster offered here is a
well-documented example that was meticulously restored for JCNA Concours competition by its previous owner. Upon completion it won 12 “Best Jaguar in Class” awards, and was awarded “Grand National Champion” status by JCNA in 1999.
The Jaguar was then sold to the current owner and has been part of a high quality private collection for the past six years.
It has been maintained to the highest standards, driven very little, and housed in climate-controlled storage during that time.
According to the Jaguar Cars Inc. historical information, the roadster was built on March 18, 1953. Today it retains all original matching numbers drive train components. The car has excelled under the scrutiny of the toughest experts and stands as a historically correct and first rate example of the XK 120 right down to its original tool kit. It would be a welcomed addition to any significant collection.

A frameoff, photo-documented restoration was later performed in British Columbia, which included a repaint in the car’s current highly attractive colors. Following completion, it achieved a remarkable 99.67 points in JCNA judging in 1999, under the ownership of David and Birgit Roberts of Vancouver.

In 2000, the Jaguar joined the respected collection of Jim and Evelyn Fasnacht of Houston, before making its way to the consignor in early 2007. Elegant, sporting, and sophisticated in equal measure, this concours-proven XK120 is ready to thrill its next fortunate owner.

    Lot #200726

This 1953 Jaguar XK120 Roadster was built on March 18, 1953 and dispatched seven days later to Canada, where it is said to have remained for much of its life. It was refurbished in the late 1990s and spent time in part of two private collections before being acquired by the current owner in 2020. Power is supplied by a 3.4-liter inline-six linked with a five-speed manual transmission, and the car has been refinished in red over light gray leather. Equipment includes a black soft top, dual SU carburetors, tri-bar headlights, a split front windshield, chrome bumpers and bumperettes, 16″ steel wheels with hubcaps and bright trim rings, rear wheel spats, lap belts, a heater, and Smiths gauges. This XK120 is now offered on dealer consignment with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, the removed four-speed gearbox, the owner’s manual, a tool kit, and a clean Ohio title.

The car was finished from the factory in British Racing Green and was repainted red in the late 1990s. Exterior equipment includes a black soft top and side curtains, a split front windshield, tri-bar headlights, rear wheel spats, chrome front bumpers and rear bumperettes, and a polished exhaust outlet. The seller notes a dent on the right rear quarter panel, a scratch on the lower right front fender, and spider cracking on top of the driver’s door.

Body-color 16″ steel wheels wear hubcaps and bright trim rings and were mounted with Coker Classic tires in 2020. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension with telescopic-type hydraulic shock absorbers as well as semi-elliptical rear leaf springs and Girling hydraulic rear shock absorbers. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.

The cabin features seats trimmed in light gray leather complemented by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include lap belts, a heater, a passenger-side grab handle, door map pockets, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror.

The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 25k miles, approximately 800 of which were added under current ownership.

The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 160 horsepower. The battery was replaced in 2024 and an oil change was performed in 2025.

Cylinder head stamping W7802-8 and a corresponding number is listed on the Heritage Trust certificate and stamped on the engine block.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission.

The removed four-speed gearbox accompanies the vehicle, and the stamping on the case matches what is shown on the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.

The car is titled in Ohio using VIN 673773W78028, which combines the chassis and engine numbers.

The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate lists the factory colors, serial numbers, and production dates.
