Private Party or Dealer: Private Party
Lot #96832
This 1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster is said to have been purchased by the seller’s father from the original owner in November 1972 and was acquired by the seller in 2018. The car is finished in red over red leather and is powered by a replacement 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, a split windshield, dual carburetors, 16″ body-color steel wheels, Smiths instrumentation, a heater, and lap belts. Service performed under current ownership involved overhauling the suspension and brake systems in addition to replacing the tires and various engine components. This XK120 Roadster is offered with 1972 sales receipts, recent service records, a tonneau cover, removable door windows, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name that lists the vehicle as a 1954 model year.
The car is said to have been repainted red under previous ownership. Equipment includes a black soft top, a split windshield, “tripod” headlights, fender-mounted mirrors, rear wheel skirts, and chrome front bumpers and rear bumperettes. The soft top was adjusted in January 2019, and the seller notes various scratches and cracks in the finish.
Body-color 16″ steel wheels wear Jaguar-branded covers and are mounted with 6.00-16 Cocker Classic tires that were installed in March 2019. Work performed in 2018 included replacing the upper control arm bushings, front and rear shock absorbers, sway bar end links, rear brake cylinders, front and rear brake hoses, and front hubs in addition to repainting the front suspension components and overhauling the lower control arms. The brake master cylinder was replaced in March 2019, and the brake fluid was flushed at that time.
The cabin features seats trimmed in red leather upholstery along with a black lower dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, lap belts, a heater, and a passenger grab bar. A tear is visible on the driver seat bottom, and wear is present on the seating surfaces.
The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 1,200 miles, approximately 25k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown, and the engine hour gauge is inoperable.
The replacement 3.4-liter inline-six is said to have been sourced from a later-model Jaguar before being overhauled and installed under previous ownership. It is equipped with dual overhead camshafts and dual carburetors. The seller states that the alternator does not charge properly, and there is a parasitic draw on the battery when not running.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The Virginia title describes the car as a 1954 model year and lists the VIN as F14268, which matches the number shown on the replacement cylinder head. A plaque affixed to the firewall lists the chassis number as 673169 and the engine number as W6650-8, which corresponds to an XK120 roadster built in 1952.

I believe the VIN is 673189, if anyone has a better information please contact the webmaster. 673169 is elsewhere in the database and was last known to be in the UK with a completely different set of numbers, albeit on a non original data plate. 673169 was at auction in California in 2009 so does not match the time line stated in the above BAT auction.

Thanks Pauls! I am the seller, and I will have BaT update this chassis number to the correct 673189. Never caught their mistake so I appreciate it.

Lot #128231
This 1952 Jaguar XK120 roadster is finished in red over red leather and powered by a replacement 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, body-color 16″ steel wheels, dual SU carburetors, a split windshield, and a cabin heater. The owner’s father purchased the car in 1972 and it was offered on BaT in January 2023. Service since that auction reportedly included repairing the choke, ignition wiring, and battery cables and adjusting the carburetors, ignition timing, and front brakes. This XK120 is now offered at no reserve on dealer consignment in Delaware with service records, 1972 purchase paperwork, a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Virginia title in the owner’s name.
The car was originally Pastel Blue and is now red. Exterior details include a black soft top, chrome front bumpers and rear bumperettes, tri-bar headlights, fender-mounted side mirrors, a split windshield, rear fender skirts, and a single exhaust outlet. The soft top was adjusted in January 2019 and corrosion is noted on the right quarter panel.
Body-color 16″ steel wheels wear Jaguar-branded hubcaps and were mounted with Coker Classic tires in March 2019. Service in 2018 included overhauling the lower control arms, refinishing suspension components, and replacing the upper control arm bushings, front and rear dampers, sway bar end links, rear brake cylinders, front and rear brake hoses, and front hubs. The front brakes were adjusted in preparation for the sale. The lower front ball joints are torn and the steering box and rear shocks are leaking.
The seats are upholstered in red leather while the dashboard, door panels, and carpets are black. Appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger-side grab handle, and a cabin heater.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 1,300 miles, and the selling dealer states the car has traveled approximately 25k miles under current ownership. An aftermarket engine hour meter is installed but does not work.
The replacement 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six was sourced from a later-model Jaguar and installed before 1972. Service in preparation for the sale is said to have included repairing the choke, gapping the spark plugs, repairing the ignition wiring and battery cables, and adjusting the carburetor and ignition timing. Engine oil leaks are present.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and the selling dealer states both the transmission and the rear axle are leaking.
Documentation accompanying the car includes service records, 1972 purchase paperwork, and a Jaguar Heritage Trust Production Record Trace Certificate details colors, serial numbers, and production information.
The Virginia title describes the car as a 1954 model year and lists the VIN as F14268, which matches the number shown on the replacement cylinder head. A plaque affixed to the firewall lists the chassis number as 673189 and the engine number as W6650-8, which corresponds to an XK120 roadster built in 1952.
