    Sellers description:
    Lot 139 - 1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
    139 - 1951 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
    Estimate: £70,000 - £80,000
    Registration Number: OVT 700
    Chassis Number: 660606

This XK120 Roadster was supplied new in January 1951 to Tom Byatt Ltd, a dealer in Stoke-On-Trent, in Silver metallic with Red leather hide. Resplendent today in arguably the best colour scheme for an XK, this stunning matching numbers Roadster has benefited from a restoration by the renowned mark specialist Proteus in Hampshire.

In their workshops in 2004 they stripped the whole vehicle and restored, re-trimmed and painted the car. At this time, the engine was stripped and rebuilt, dashboard overhauled and the gearbox was also reconditioned by Alan George.

OVT 700 also benefits from the addition and fitment of a new radiator, a refurbishment of all the electrics, front and rear axles and the fitment of new disc brakes. Having covered only 5,000 miles since the Proteus restoration in 2004, the vendor describes OVT 700 to be in excellent condition throughout. With an MoT certificate until 2012, a Heritage certificate, and, sitting beautifully on chrome wire wheels, this original colours, matching number XK120 has been comprehensively prepared and certainly deserves further inspection.

My father owned OVT700 in the late 50's
It was Red during the era he owned it.
Glad to see it still in lovely condition.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
